I have had a migraine since Thursday night and i went to the dr. today. I got a shot of painkiller in the rump and I feel a lot better now

I have been getting them more often and for longer over the past few months. There isn't a lot I can take for them while I am nursing my son

I had five packages ready to go to the PO today, but I didn't take them with me since I didn't think I could do it. I should have taken them because the effects of the shot were almost immediate. I even picked up some Christmas presents at walmart after the dr. appointment (since I was childless

) That just means I will have more packages on Wednesday to take!

I have the horizontal strips sewn for all the blocks, I just have trouble getting them to line up perfectly when I put them together. That has been the hold up the entire time. Maybe I am being too picky. I am hurrying with them so that you ladies won't have to wait much longer!!!

Please take your time.....and I learned form a senior quilter to pin the seams and if there is gaps in the fabric lay that to the bottom side (only if its not alot) and it will work its way out.

Has worked every time for me. Also you need to iron each strip in opposite directions for it to lay right. Like, your first row will be iron east and the second row will be ironed west.....I use nort and south since thats the direction my ironing board is standing. lol. Hope this tidbit helps.

I am going to go try that!!! Each of my squares on the horizontal strips measures exactly what it should, but when I sew the strips together my lines are not exactly right. I just can't send less than my best. I will let you know how it works out.

After sixty days of working on this block this little tip finally enabled me to sew one block perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to go iron all my other strips

I took this pic with my phone. I am going to try and use my 1 hour break tomorrow afternoon to go mail the five I have packed and done. I am mailing in order of the addresses that were messaged to me: Acre, Granny, Toi-Toi, Country, and Ginbart.

Beautiful Block jc.....and I am so glad that the tip helped out. I used to not pin at all....and my friend (Ruby) at church asked how in the world did I quilt without pinning.....oh well, my seams are super perfect now and I love it.

So glad to help and again....that block is beautiful!!!!!

Well, the 10 addresses I have recieved so far have their block in the mail. They should be there on Friday ...

I did send a stamped self-addressed envelope with so you can send a block back to me.

I think I am going to put this quilt into the silent auction for the local volunteer Fire Department. Well, the auxillary actually. We have an annual Christmas party for everyone that lives in the fire district - I think it is under 200 households. We raise money to use for feeding the fireman during training and when responding to calls. This is especially important if we have a wildland fire because they can be firefighting for days with one of those. We also have a college scholarship that we give out every year and some other things like that.

I would love to do that for our fire/rescue here...but I never hear of anything like that. Hmmmm, may have to make some calls and find out.
