Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

I love those sounds Willow makes!

Also, the favs from Meyer just arrived! All are spunky and fluffy and looking good. They even sent me an extra! A welsummer isn't doing as well, though...I'm doing my best but I don't have high hopes for the poor thing.
when you have a weaker chick, get some egg yolk into them, dribble it on their beak so they can swallow it- might just need a boost

So Moa was never brave enough to physically tell Willow: "OUT!" [what a chicken] bak bak bak

Show those two ladies this pic of my 2 hens Gabby and Girly having fun together in the next box.

Haha-- oh my, no. Moa is the Queen Hen, and the only reason she didn't force Willow out of the box is that she knows that only one chicken lords over her-- me! She knew I'd tell her off if she was mean to Willow. After all, there were other boxes open for her!

None of my girls will ever share a box. I guess they all like their privacy too much!

OH THATS RIGHT, YOU were there, I forgot about that very important part...duh! I have many nest boxes but they all want to use the MAGIC BOX!...Go figure...OH and a couple will sneak in my house and find "out of the way" places to lay eggs, talk about privacy...
P.S. I have all banty size kids :p

Love the videos Nambroth, how is dear Derp doing these days? Is she still a house chicken?

Derp is very unhappy if we have her indoors for too long. She obviously does not want to be in here for long periods! So, I have her outdoors, and several times a day I go out to help her into or out of the coop, depending on where she wants to be at any given time. There is food and water in both locations, but she really demands that she lays eggs in the coop, so I help her with that.

I'm trying to save up a bit to take her to the vet, in case anything can be done to help her. Her wry neck is the same as it's been for over a month and vitamin therapy didn't help.

My Ugly Eddy had a wry neck I guess, his head pointed backwards and he walked backwards. I think it took over 2 months for him to straighten out. Then he ran circles forwards. From what I remember, he started spending more time facing forwards over a period of time.
