Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

I am SO sorry for your loss of Kua, Nam! My original 4 ex-battery hens (Isa Brown) died the same way. It is cruel and horrible that it has been bred into them. I'm just grateful I was able to make their last few years a little bit of paradise. And you know Kua had the best life it is possible for a chicken to have, thanks to you! <3

Totally agree! My bantam Cochin, Po, was probably the best boy I've had, rest his soul. I'd've never gotten him, either, if it weren't for Trousers. :) Unfortunately, a raccoon took him back in June. :(

ETA a picture.

Yes, I am most impressed with the gentle nature of the cochins I have (and have had). I'm sure there are some bad eggs out there, but they have been the most consistently mellow birds I've had. I've heard Brahmas are the same way.

So sorry to hear about Kua. She was lucky to have you and live in your flock. Even if it meant she had to give the hairy eyeball to an exceptionally odd Favrelle. ;)
