That pic is hilarious and cute at the same time,Texokie!

Being chickenless, I went to the library a town over and came out with Raising Chickens for Dummies and Chicken Coops. When my mom saw the books all she had to say was "Oh no!"

I just replied, "Our library just has stories, fictional and nonfictional stories, on chickens, but THIS library has chicken information books!"

"You're still not getting a chicken," mom replied. I just got to move out of the house (and get the hell out of New Jersey since I can't stand this state any longer) in order to own some chickens! I have it all planned out; find a place you are allowed to keep chickens, move there with my cat and two hamsters, and get my chickens! The only problem with this plan? I don't have the money nor do I have a job to get me the money needed to move out....
Im on the same boat as you. Waiting to get chickens, and to hopefully, some day leave NJ. (Pennsylvania all the way!)

Shadow Rabbit and Loki0, I understand! I lived for many years not too long ago with chicken dreams, and no money or house to do it. I was in NJ briefly myself.. the taxes there-- yikes! PA is gorgeous and so are the rural parts of NY. Keep your dream near to your hearts and it will happen for you someday!

Texokie1, what a great photo! Coho looked just like that when she was a chick. I bet your little one will grow up to be beautiful. Our Faverolles chicks were always the first to fall asleep in our hands.

I actually got my mother to say yes, and we ordered some birds today for my birthday. I got a buff Orpington, five assorted bantams, and a salmon faverolles. I hope it's derpy!:)

This is Mr. Fluffers and Rosie... Rosie is gone... Hawk... But Mr Fluffers now... Best boy EVER! He has a loud peicing crow. I do not let him out of the coop till after 9 am. Give the neighbors plenty of time to wake up. He is not mean to any of my girls. No back issue or bald heads. He's even good with the littles that run around here. He does not however like my silkies. He is 2, and has never shown any aggression to me or my boys. He even will help make nests. LOVE LOVE LOVE him.

I am hoping the description is right as I have a Favorelle Roo coming in my batch of chicks I ordered from the hatchery. I could let you know how it goes, but you will have to wait a while of course, lol, the chicks don't even get here till June 4... boy oh boy I can't wait!!

guess who just read the entire thread? I'm hooked on derp. I've spent the last couple of hours derpily staring at the computer screen and getting weird looks when I would randomly burst out laughing.
