Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

LOL. This is how is starts. By next spring you'll have 20 more hens and 2 new roosters to go with them. My pipped egg is driving me up the wall. This is my first hatch and I just want a little chick already! My silkie is on broody spell #3 this year. She got a late start since I didn't get her till midway through spring.

Mine started in January. 2 of them! Then one in February, then3 in may, 1 in July, one in august, and one now in September due to hatch in a few days. And now Skatter wants too AGAIN!. And this is 5 different hens... Two of the girls just seem to go every 8 weeks.. They're sisters too! Lol. My broody silkie hen got cooned just as she was thinking of brooding again... Or she would probably be finishing up her third round also and getting ready for round four!

Oh, dear.

It's really happening. Plush Derperella.

The good news:
- I am not totally inept at making plushes! Yay!
- She's made out of the finest materials I could get.
- I giggled the whole time I made her.

The bad news:
- Since she's hand sewn, and I am very anal about high quality, it took a long time. Much longer than I expected.
- Her materials were rather expensive.
- The two factors above mean that I might have to sell these for more than I anticipated. They also won't be made very quickly.

Bear with me as I work on this and see what results..!! I'll take more photos once it stops raining.
I just saw that and let out a 'squee' and now have both cats staring at me completely puzzled lol
It's Derp's fault that I now have a flock of Faverolles, including one that has very crooked toes, a cross beak and stares at new things

I oppose the idea of auctioning off the Derp plush! It was very special and took a lot of hard work and effort. Nambroth, I wouldn't sell that for anything. Copies are one thing, but that one is the original!

Each one will be made the same way, and so each is an original! I made a prototype out of an old t-shirt, but I had to take it back apart again to trace my pattern. I guess that was the first one!

Chickpea is a cutie. I love the blue (grey) in her feathers! Both of my Faverolles-- Derp and Coho-- do that with my hair, too. They preen it or steal it. They are the only chickens that do it!

Faverolles sound like very interesting birds.
