Yes, that dog was quite interesting to me as well. I used to work for a veterinarian who bred pharoah hounds and rotties, so I was familiar with pharoah hounds and how unusual they are. When we recieved this dog from the shelter (Taffy) my husband and I were struck at how she looked like a pharoah hound on steroids and couldn't figure out what she was. I finally guessed pharoah pit and discussed listing her that way with our director. She had ALSO independently come up with that mix. We called the shelter back and sure enough, the dog came in listed as a cross between a purebred pharoah hound and a pit bull, just as we had both guessed, parents were known to the person giving the dog up, not a guess. Her nose blushed, if you were curious. She was very very pretty!
I don't have a problem with reputable breeders, especially those breeding the dogs that are not ending up in shelters!
