Desperate for work, but need a duck-friendly career!

Lmao! Same here and I have kids!

Yeah, having a house duck is already similar enough to raising an infant, thank you.

I made a Craigslist ad promoting exptic species petsitting, but no bites yet. Trying to think of other ways to work from home, I have a ton of experience as a producer and project coordinator but positions that allow for telecommuting are rare. :/

I suggest making cards or flyers up and distribute to vets, pet stores, shelters, etc. look online for pet bird and reptile forums and see if there is a section for that type of posting. Where do you live? Look for other places for free or very low cost ads. Where I live there is a local weekly ad publication. Ads are $4 a week. Be creative in getting your name out

Hey Amykins, I do not know where you live but I am very interested in duck sitting for you, & can if U live near by! Need some extra $$ bad! Love pets! Have 2 brand new ducklings, they are pekin. I had four but I had to get rid of them :( @ beginning of Summer! I was beyond heartbroken, I still miss them! I was going in for a major surgery, husband gone w. Army @ time, so I had no one to watch and take care of my little friends. I am still house bound! & very lonely! It wasn't until today I had even left our property ( I go outside quite a bit to sit on the porch) in 9 days, and it was just a quick run up to the store. Still on crutches:( Anyway I have all the time in the world! so you would not have to worry about your little one being left at home seeing as how I really can't get out myself! have a very very large fenced in backyard, great for foraging! in the process of building a large covered run to move around the yard. I do have a large 12 foot by 10 foot covered run, but it is not movable and I feel it does not get enough Sun! already having two ducks here myself I have everything needed to take care of your baby here! I live in GEORIGA! About 45 minutes outside Atlanta!

also if you live in Georgia I have a friend that has a 1 week old duckling they are wanting to get rid of. she has them and sells them every weekend at Peachtree peddlers flea market. also there are two different websites where you can order Peking they have had a hot shower today and would be sending out a load, there are some still open and available they also have open ship dates for October 27th. so if you are wanting to get a friends sooner than later I would definitely look into that ASAP! they do have a to order minimum for the ducklings and it will cost you around 50 or 60 forvboth of them. it is that expensive because they have a 40 minimum. also with a getting much colder around this time of the year they have to insulate the box and pack it with a heat source. today being October 20th I believe you could go ahead and place an order for today or the 27th of October. They also had Cayuga duckling for sale at both hatcheries for ship date of the 20th and 27th. can you say early Christmas present to yourself... or it would really be an early Christmas present to wobbles

I kind of shudder to say this, but a lot of women who don't want to or can't work outside the home take up babysitting (meaning human children, not animals). You might want to give some thought to that if you feel you have the temperment for it.

First, have you ever watched kids? That IS work! It's an extremely difficult, but rewarding job where you work up to ten hour (or more) days with NO brakes. Also, most women don't do it because they "can't find a job", they CHOOSE to stay home with their kids or to have a daycare because they want to. You might want to volunteer at a child care center of you think it's so easy. You will soon be changing your tune.

What about applying at farms in the area? If they need someone to work and also it would be helpful to them to have a vet on staff. It probably wouldn't be full time, but could get you by until you find a position or a second duck so you can lead wobbles home and have more places that are options to work at.

I work from home.
Check out Arise.com and Nexrep.com.

I work with both.
Been doing it going on 4 years and I love it!
No scam. Legit work from home. I'm proof.
