Yes, I put 200mg niacin in a gallon of his water. He also takes liquid calcium 2x a day. He's eating chick grower feed (15-16% protein). Is there duck feed or a routine niacin dose/supplement that they are suppose to have ?
Sounds like his blood feathers are coming in. If you could hold him still long enough to get a pic. Other wise great news on him using his bad/getting better leg to swim around. You 2 are a good team!!Yes, I put 200mg niacin in a gallon of his water. He also takes liquid calcium 2x a day. He's eating chick grower feed (15-16% protein).
It looks the same today. It's only on one side of his body but I believe it's spreading? I remember seeing the purple/red spot on the top of his wing/back a week ago, but it was small and I figured it was just a "raw" spot from where he had been resting his head. During his bath time, however, when I noticed it again, I realized that it was larger and included his side and underside. It must be blood in the end of the feather shaft. How does it look today? Is it on both side of his body?

If you can you might want to have a vet to take a look since it doesn't sound like blood feathers if only on the one side. Almost sounds like bruisingIt looks the same today. Alright, I'll probably do that sometime soon. I just wish little Jasper would get better. Hopefully soon.If you can you might want to have a vet to take a look since it doesn't sound like blood feathers if only on the one side. Almost sounds like bruising
Healing isn't always fast. Like we'd like it to be. How is he doing other wise is he eating good acting like he is happy with life? All these things we have to take into consideration with them. Your giving him every chance hopefully you'll soon see good progress.Alright, I'll probably do that sometime soon. I just wish little Jasper would get better. Hopefully soon.
