Hi I am new to this site as well as to having chickens. My aunt bought me a book called "The Joy of keeping Chickens" and there is a statement in there that says that, with the exception of silkies, you can usually tell the color of eggs the chicken will lay by the color of it's earlobes. There is a mention of brown lobes/light brown eggs or something like that but has anyone ever heard that and is it true? I have found blue eggs so far and I do have a couple of new chickens with bluish ear lobes...??? How funny if true and too bad they aren't born with the earlobes....!
