Deterring night time predators?

U can say what u want to me about this but a rifle + pations= no fox which leads to happy hens which leads to more eggs which leads to u getting ur breakfast which leads to u having a good start to the day which leads to u not being as tired and hungry at work which leads to u coming home with a positive attitude
Now this isn't the case for every but I'm s
Yeah i was gonna say get some motion detector lights and have a gun ready. I know it may be hard to shoot an animal but you got to think whats best for your chickens. I know we had a gun ready and had to shoot a fox for trying to get in out coop. There cute but not dealing with them killing my chickens. Do something asap though because my friend had about 190 chickens and one night she came out and like half of them were dead because of some animals so they are completly set up now. It would suck to come out and a buch of your chickens be dead. I know id loose my mind lmao

I'm assuming they had some sort of mink type thing and do u know if they ever got that horrible animal?

What I forgot to mention was there's fence wire that comes out away from the fence on the ground approx. 12" to 14" to prevent a Predator from digging under the fence.

My coop has an automatic chicken door that I installed. It's on a timer so that it opens every morning at a certain time and closes every evening when the chickens are inside the coop for roosting. I then put an electric fence around their yard about 1 foot off the ground for any predators that want to dig under and then I put another strand of electric wire around the top of the fence and I grounded the fence just in case a predator tries to climb it he's going to hit the electric wire at the top. I concreted under the gate, and I made a scarecrow out of plastic pipe that turns in the direction that the wind is blowing. I also put a pair of old blue jeans on the scarecrow so that the legs flap back and forth in the wind. So far I haven't had a single aerial attack or any ground predator inside the chicken run now in about 3 years, day or night.
Doesn't that allow some to go under the fence without being shocked?
I have my bottom wire about 6" off of the ground. The bottom wire is close enough to the ground and usually the predator will stick their nose down before they start to dig and get zapped. Most of the year all is good but sometimes in the spring when the young are learning I have heard some critters touch the wire by their sounds.

So the hot wire 1 foot off the ground is in addition to regular fence with an anti dig apron?

From my experience, most predators I have dealt with are diggers, bobcat, possum, fox, skunk. not sure about a coyote but one did jump over a 5' fence and got into a pen before I put the netting up. The most birds killed was from the bobcat and next from the fox. I love the electric wire. Once I electrocuted a couple of snakes who climbed up on the fence next to a coop and touched the wire.
