I am new in chicken bissnus but sorry about Hawkeye

I woke up this morning, miraculously. Didn't sleep much, though. Thanks for all the added condolences last night and this morning.
Diana, I have come to believe that it was the benzocaine, not the other ingredients in there. Many of those ingredients, I know Hawkeye was not sensitive to because they are in VetRx and others have been used with him at various times.

So sorry for your loss.Hawkeye was very special to everyone on the board. I looked forward to reading any posts about him or Suede. I agree with Beefy on making him the mascot for the board. It felt like he belonged to everyone on BYC. He will be greatly missed.

I am sorry for your loss Cynthia-I have always enjoyed hearing about all your birds. I am glad you have his son to carry on his genes. I am sorry I haven't been here as often as I used to. Anyway you have my deepest sympathy.

Thank you again. Thank GOD we didn't put that stuff on anyone else yesterday! And one of my little poufy-headed hens, Tux, even pecked at his wattle after we put that on yesterday, shook her head in distaste and walked away. Apparently, she didn't get enough of it to hurt her. I almost expected to find her dead under the roost this morning.
