Thank you for your response. It’s heartbreaking to have two attacks. Predators, I understand. They have to eat (just not our livestock!).one of the attacks we think poisoned, another attack they were a bit bloody. Another time just missing, no feathers or anything, they were Cornish hen sized RR, barred Rock, wyandotte and black copper Marans. Same with ducks.
I SUSPECT some of these killings were done in retaliation for the the cats and dogs you caught and dispatched .Some people will kill you over a dog(or cat).I was an animal cruelty investigator many years ago and some of the things I saw was pretty disturbing. After my divorce I moved away and never went back in that line of work.I never forgot what I saw.Thank you, were trying, one step at a time. Noticed yesterday one of my Muscovy hens is setting on about 20 eggs. Hope they don't come up missing.
I don't advertise what I've dispatched. But, run druggies and other tresspassers off my land.I SUSPECT some of these killings were done in retaliation for the the cats and dogs you caught and dispatched .Some people will kill you over a dog(or cat).I was an animal cruelty investigator many years ago and some of the things I saw was pretty disturbing. After my divorce I moved away and never went back in that line of work.I never forgot what I saw.
I hope for your sake your fences will keep their dogs out and you won't have to trap or dispatch any more domestic animals for killing chickens or attacking your goats (not that you don't have the right to kill them if they attack or kill your animals... )Thank you, were trying, one step at a time. Some people can be plain ornery when it comes to their dogs .I'd rather build a fence than have a confrontation if possible. I understand why you want a fence around your place.I work on this one when I can.Hopefully I'll have mine finished by winter.I hope for your sake your fences will keep their dogs out and you won't have to trap or dispatch any more domestic animals for killing chickens or attacking your goats (not that you don't have the right to kill them if they attack or kill your animals... )
Agreed, I don't want to dispatch any pet, but I have to protect mine, its the owners fault. They should be fined for not taking proper care of their pet and pay damages caused by their pet, let alone what I have to remember doing. Some people can be plain ornery when it comes to their dogs .I'd rather build a fence than have a confrontation if possible. Dogs and cats aren't responsible for the neglect of their owners. My neighbors dog goes to my brothers house every morning so he feeds her twice a day.He also buys her treats. She goes home at night because she loves their 2 kids.Their cat came here and stayed. 2 of her kittens followed her and while nursing them she had 4 more.I'm trying to find a shelter that'll take her and 4 of the 6 kittens .Surrounding counties won't help and we don't have one.Meanwhile my neighbor claims she was there when he moved there and isn't his cat. Some people can be plain ornery when it comes to their dogs .I'd rather build a fence than have a confrontation if possible.
