Developing My Own Breed Of Large Gamefowl For Free Range Survival (Junglefowl x Liege)

Yep, that hen (pullet) has a crooked toe. I’m going to have to make a hard decision now. I cull crooked toed birds across all my lines, and it rarely happens anyhow. It more happens with my guineas because the eggs are usually old when I find the nests. The incubation of the BF was odd in that I had some non-related American crosses come out crooked toe and the incubation period ran a day late. So I’m not sure if this is a genetic issue or an incubation issue.
Crooked toes can be caused by a vitamin deficiency too, it's not always genetic, or incubation error.

This blue pullet is my first American x Cracker cross. Mongo is her father. She’s much larger than a Cracker and only a bit smaller than the BF, with whom she is the same age as.

The teenage Blueface are significantly larger than a grown Cracker. Quite a bit bulkier in build too. When the BF stag fills out and the BF hens start laying I’m going to put N1 on the BF pullets in the coop and the BF stag on the Cracker hens free range and between the two create an entire generation of crosses. If I like the crosses I’ll then decide whether I want the BF cock to breed them again (more BF into them than Cracker), N1 to breed them (and thus make them more Cracker than BF), or let them breed unto themselves.
