Trying to get info.
My friend has just started with chickens.
Says hers have worms.
Mine dont so I dont know what to tell her.

Shes asking:

What to use?
If it safe to eat eggs before and after treating them?

what do i tell her.

Tell her to use valbazen liquid cattle/sheep wormer. It can be purchased from Jefferslivestock.com if the feed store doesnt carry it. Administer orally undiluted. Dosage is 1/2cc for standards, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Redose in 10 days. There's a 24 day withdrawal from start to finish.

I used Valbazen, good stuff. I ordered online, it came with directions for birds....

You may think your birds don't have worms, bet they do

When I brought my first 2 trios home, 3 days later I was watching "chicken TV" and my Ameracauna roo pooped a pile of worms

It was disgusting... If I hadn't seen it, I'd never have known. I promptly consulted the experts here on BYC, ordered the Valbazen and my birds grew and gained weight like crazy
