Thanks everyone for the compliments. She did eat some hay during the day, though I'm still being the neurotic mom, hovering around and staring at the poor thing, going "Cloverbud, please eat some hay." No wonder she doesn't want to eat

i am just as neurotic as you. my daughters 4-H leader always yells at me and tells me they are just livestock! give her some time to adjust. has she been treated for cocci? if not i would give her a 5 day tx in her water, due to stress it can flare up cocci. have fun!

Neighbor said she ate her hay this morning and when I fed her tonight she buried her little earless head right in it. She's got a small sore on her head from literally butting heads with the other big does. We tried putting her in with some 5 month old Saanens but she beat them up! She's by herself at night, but during the day she'll go out with the big does (Nubian-Boer crosses).

DH keeps wanting to know when the breeder is going to send us the ears

We have fainting goats... almost got a lamancha, but decided to go with a boer/nubian cross. Keep spending lots of time with her, take lots of goodies, and just sit with her - she will come around!
