Anyone have any? There were two a pair for sale at the show this weekend i almost came home with them! I told myself i they hadn't sold by Coop-out i was going to get them, and they did! Which is okay cuz my mom would have killed me! Im going to scour flea markets for an antique/antique looking cage for them to restore THEN get some!

I raised Diamond doves for a while. they are really fun to raise and breed well. They can be fairly calm if you handle them often.

I would be careful about using an antique bird cage for them. these cages are often just for ornamental purposes and not made for keeping a bird in. You would be better off just buying a cage from a petstore or walmart.

The plastic bottomed small animal cages often work well for them.

Their care is similar to that of a ringneck.

I've got a pair.

They've sucessfully raised a few babies. I don't know why, but they've laid lots of eggs though that they'll sit on a while, then quit. And there's been a time or two that they actually hatched babies, but they didn't make it early on for one reason or another.

Right now I have the pair separated, because the male was picking the feathers off the females neck. He had done that once before just all of a sudden, very quickly, to the point she was raw from his pecking, separated them then, she recovered quickly, and then put them back together later on....

Anyways....sorry for the "horror" stories....LOL....

They are cute little birds and I like them...mine just have their dysfunctional moments. lol
