Broody question... she sat for two days now, can I add cold eggs to her or should I bator them until warm and give them?

and if they are dark marans will she reject them?

I've always given mine cold eggs. Wake them up from their trance

. I don't think she'll care about the colour, I mean, you can get a broody to sit on just about anything, as long as it resembles an egg! I've heard of people fooling their broodies with golf balls until they got hold of some chicks for them to adopt.

I brought the eggs to room temp so they were warm to the touch them added them and they hatched fine, i have never been lucky enough to have marans though

Basically she needs to wait and try and keep the ducklings in the eggs as long as they need. I wish I could remember exactly how long mine took, I think it pipped Saturday afternoon and finally hatched Tuesday morning or something. They seriously take forever, so it's better to wait and wait and wait some more.

It's past 22:00 here now, so I'm not going to be on very much longer.

Ok so I have been sooo sooo busy today!! Its's 10pm here
First off look what came in the post,

It's awesome!! I just hope it doesn't kill my nearly ready to hatch eggs I've just placed nicely in my new turner!!

Then as I said about starting a hatchery. I have been sorting out egg shipments all day. Including if everyone actually buys all the chicks they have asked for I would have sold 42 chicks!! But at the minute I have 1 definite and 1 ill get back to you in the morning and another I will work it out by the weekend! But hey it's a start! And I have only put up three free ads on the net!
Omg if I do that a week I'd be in my element of all addictions!!! Hehe

Ouch sorry to hear the weather here has been great for the past while this is the first rain we have seen in almost two weeks the lawn was starting to look a bit dry lol (not)
