what hatchery? perhaps the USPS scrambled them or broke chalzas? I had an issue with my pet chicken, every single red silkie was infertile. if it wasn't every one I wouldn't have thrown a fit, but every one of those notta and the blues had some signs!
Actually, I DID buy them from MyPetChicken! I am not getting eggs from there ever again...

Well I considered that, but I was interested in breeding her with another breed for some interesting ducklings
Really? That would be so cool! Would I be able to own such a rare duck? Do they have any special requirements? I would love to know more about them

I actually have 10 eggs in my incubator right now from 2 different people who raise them, one lady is in Massachusetts and they were shipped and the others are from here in Seattle. The shipped ones are blue heads which can throw all three colors an the local ones are blue, green and silver. Almost all Aussies can be traced back to holderreads but most all of the ones in Washington are related so we have to get unrelated eggs from other states. They are a lot like mallards and they require no more special care than them. just making sure there wing is clipped because they are amazing flyers but won't fly away if they have sufficant food water to play in and but can try to fly away if a predator is a threat. If u have the 2nd edition of storeys guide to raising ducks I think he has a section on them and their history. If not I can paste it on here later. But they are very cool duck and very beautiful!
