I am considering getting a mate for Joey. She is a mallard, and a small one at that. The coop is 10x10 with 3 other chickens (2 FCM and 1 silkie bantam) and 3 temporary chicks (that I hope to be selling soon) after I sell the chicks I want to get a small, quiet mate for Joey. What kind of ducks do y'all recommend?

Sparky why not another mallard! a boy and then you can collect eggs hatch and sell them or sell eggs!

I love snowy mallards! If you don't want a mallard then I have australian spotteds and they are batams, usually the size of a small mallard. They are really cool, there are green heads like mallards, blue and silver heads. There are only about 500 breeding pairs in the US but holderreads sells them and I could hook you up if you want too when your ready. Just throwing it out there!

these are the bantams all running around ... i think they are all silkie or silkie crosses... the all have the dark legs except one and all have dark black skin too



and one each of the dark and light brahmas lol these guys are all fast and act like they hate me lol

LOL- You have to be joking- my 5 chicks are silkie mix too!!! Course, I have no brahmas, but WOW, are they cute!! I'll post a pic- CAUTION, LAUGHING COULD HAPPEN!!

Ok, is it just me or does that look like a peacock?

I have 2 that have 5 toes
one with black skin Has 5 toes
2 with yellow skin
2 with feathered shanks/toes
and that little weirdo chick (the brown one, Sally's namesake) and the other have grey skin
They are polish/sultan/silkie mutts, all I know is the mama is a splash sultan mutt
There's 5 all told
It's ok if you guys are laughing at that little chickie, I don't mind, I laugh at it everytime i see it, too funny

Really? That would be so cool! Would I be able to own such a rare duck? Do they have any special requirements? I would love to know more about them

5 toes silkie, black skin silkie, and you said weirdo chick and my namesake made me laugh because I resemble that! lol
