Quote: I didn't throw out the eggs, I fed them back to the hens as well as the dogs and if I had other protein eating animals, would have fed it to them.
My thinking was that they would all benefit from it one way or another (worms, bugs). So yes, about 10 days...Btw, I doubt if it would kill you to accidently eat one, seems to me I remember reading that they gave it to people in third world countries to deworm. Not sure about that tho.

I did young birds and bantam sizes as well, just use less on them.
Did not have hatchlings at the time so I don't know if you should or can.

Tony, let me know how much this stuff costs ok? I wonder how long using it is good for? you know like dogs I have to do the flea and tick monthly?? That would stink having to withhold eating eggs for that long each month

This is at TSC. I'm also going to get some Permethrin-10 for the coop. It also says you can use it on the birds but just going to use it on the coop. But I will still do the Sevn spray and dust once a month. I know some people don't like the Sevn but my wifes dad and his dad used it all the time on chickens, cats dogs etc. And again, I really don't mind chemicals. All good to me if it takes care of the problem. Then I'm going to have to get some dog flee and tick shampoo for me !! And that's not a joke.

It seem the ivermectin you do only when they are really infested like mine are. From what I read it's a cure more than a preventive. The Sevn once a month would be the preventive. The Permethrin-10 you must reapply I think every month on the coop. I guess instead of Sevn.

Also I think I will get some 1x6x6 and til up the soil and start adding soil/ash/Sevn dust or DE to it to make them a dusting box. Seems though the wood ash would get bad after it rains. I wonder when it dries if it becomes dusty again?

This all seems extreme but after this nightmare I will do anything to keep this from happening again!!!!
