Brand new chick pooped bright green soon after hatching? Is that normal? None of the others did this. This chick did have a little bit of a tough time but ended up having a fully absorbed yolk and is vigorous and otherwise happy.
was it clear light green? green is normal but sometimes very light watery clear green could mean infection, I just had to put a new hatch down but her stomach was also blown up with fluid. does your chick seem to have a normal belly not filled with squishy fluid? If she seems normal and acting full of energy she should be fine!

Hey Sassy Sally Sunshine,

I read you talking about dark meat on quails.

Try Texas A&M Coturnix. They are white meat and weigh around a pound each.

They will still eat each other if the conditions arent right though. Coturnix cages with poop boards are the way to go. They are not remotely pets, They are breeding machines.

Quote: dolfi I sent you coturnix and everytime I hatched, I did a 100 degree and they still took 18-19 days. Lockdown on day 16
They have a green tint to the inside of the shell that's what you see, I could never tell if viable or not, so I always sniffed them on candle days lol
