Quote: awesome! Off to a great start! Can you get any local eggs to add with your shipped ones? not sure the size of your bator, but the more packed your bator is the better it holds heat and better hatch rates typically, and if this is your first time, shipped eggs can get you a tad frustrated, I would love to see you add some local eggs too, so you will quickly understand all the differences with shipped eggs! If you dont want the chicks you can post them on CL for a minimal fee then you dont have to brood them!

here are some ideas on where to look for local eggs.....

Sources for eggs are to search the BYC buy sell trade section, Craigslist and eBay.
Your local thread on BYC may be the best bet for local eggs!
Look for your local site in the “Social section” “Where am I? Where are You!” on BYC.

Dolfi let me know how Princess "P" Polish is doing please!!!  If that mass is drying up, I would just let it if its not holding her down, it will fall off is she is moving around, but if she is catching it on stuff may need to rethink tying it off before cutting...
thanks Sally but the little one didn't make it through the night.

Harmony and I had a good cry last night.....

I received the sweetest card from Doc O's Vet office and notes from all his girls , I bawled my eyes out when this fell out of the card....

RIP Jasper

I'm so sorry

How on earth do you know that a hen is going broody? I went to collect my daily eggs and she was sitting there. Usually I can collect and she would come out and as I leave she carry on her business. Today she kinda pecked me, but then came out. As I feed every one she went right back and was sleeping in the nest.
