A broody? OMG I have a story how funny since this from last night!! HA HA HA Oh Dolfi! you will know after a day or two she will allways be fluffed on a nest! You will throw them (gently mind you) out of the nest and every time you go back to the coop she will be sitting there again all flat and some even squauk at ya and fluff up.... some crack me up, even if I set them out of the nest on the ground they will sit on the ground in the assumed position and not budge a muscle, some will chatter up a storm and wonder for a moment but later on they are in the nest box again! (wonder what they are really saying with all that chatter? ) muwahahhahhaaaa
Best way to get a broody is NOT WANTING one! ha ha ha
Story of last night when hubs was so kind to close up the chickens and grab me eggs cause I am sick........
Hubs returns inside out of breath:
"I think we have a sick hen"
Me in a panic: "why? whats wrong?"
Hubs: "She is sitting there not moving all fluffed up and looking really ILL"
Me in a frenzy of panic with disease floating in the air of my brain "OMGAWD is she in the coop or outside?"
Hubs in a sad voice: "She is in the coop all fluffed and sick, its my favorite hen too <curse word> the black tailed one"
Me in a sad pathetic voice: "Hun, is she in a nesting box?"
Hubs in a sad voice: "yea, she just sits there and looks at me and I know something isnt right, should I remove her?"
Me almost cracking through to laughter: "No, but you could give her a few eggs to sit on if she is broody"
Hubs with bright eyes in dawning: "Broody?"
Me tearing with laughter ......
