Thank goodness for our new powerout alarm!! Wind is Terrible in the Mnts here!

IT WORKED and awoke us!!
We had generator running and bators and brooders back with power quickly as we had a previous run down of order since our last chaos with outage!
Not so sure how that would have ran if I had been by myself though

Temp at replug was 99.3 so I think it can take a tad longer loss.

GREAT CHEAP INVESTMENT!! Thanks @ozexpat

WOW I bet you shot outta bed real fast! lol We really should have a generator too. I'm going to order that alarm - thank you for posting! We just lost power on Thursday for 5 hours due to heavy snow!! I was so thankful I didn't have eggs set!!

OK so I candled again last night and one of the duck eggs is ahead of the other but I saw movement in both as well as all the other eggs that are developing. Here are pics of #s 1 and 2.

#1 the slower one. Seems more on track.

#2 the more ahead one.

If you look right below the lowest part of my thumb you can see veins and the baby was very active. My dh may have figured out why it's ahead. Because it's been closer to the middle of the bator while the other was more on the edge. So I switched them and an hoping that helps.

Here are some random eggs from the group just for fun. The rest are on day 16.

This is the goose. It's such an active baby.

Sally do you think that moving #2 to the eggs will slow it down some so it hatches with the other?

Also I still can't get the temps stable in my box so I may have to hatch in the LG do you think the increased humidity will hurt the other eggs? I have some due next Thursday, an setting some Monday and Thursday. Will they be OK? Maybe I can find a way to only up the humidity near the ones due to hatch?

I have a Q on ventilation? How do I know if it good enough. My last few hatchings haven't been so good with shipped eggs and I am trying to figure out what is going on. I am hatching some Doms right now and had 8 out of 12 make it to lockdown. 3 hatched with no problem at all the rest are dead after the internal pip!!! I took them out of the shell to see what went wrong and they look perfect!?! Temps have been fine and RH has been 1-18 25-30% 18-21 60-65% ..the ones that have hatched out are not to wet or dry. The only thing I can think of is the Ventilation
