Its here its here!!! Finally my incubator arrived. Not to my house however and two days on the phone trying to locate it. BUUUT its here. Set it up last night and if its all still level I am going to get these eggs in it today. Lots to do Again to day. We have to fix our outside runs as the snow we had this year made them all collapse and that is a desperate project as my chickens are getting bored so thats a must today. Will also be finishing putting my vegetable garden in. Today is also the day my turkeys and Ducks are supposed to hatch. I am sooooo nervous. I hope they make it out. Last year I had a terrible time with hatching Turkeys and apparently so did everyone else around here???!!!

Quote: What's really cool is that they hatched so perfectly even though they lost so much weight! This data will certainly help me when I set the 10 in the bator today or tomorrow.

Many thanks to all on this thread, it's been very helpful and I've learned a lot from all of you!

YAY Kathy! you go girl! I just set eggs a little bit ago, I weighed them and wrote the weights on the eggs big in sharpie lol, love my sharpies, anyways, instead of DH weighing them, I will weigh them after I mark air cells day 18 and see what my eye sees. This AUGHT to me good ha ha ha!!

It's been an eye-opener, that's for sure!

Yes it is!

My mini hatch is just about finished, three serama, four Female ccl and two male and one procrastinating chick in an egg yet! so we wait!

I had the strangest eggtopsy again, the yolk was grown around the chicks foot. this is the 2nd time this spring I seen such weirdness!

busy day, cleaning coops, cleaning pool and deck furniture, cleaning brooders, I put all the baby ducks in with the two bigger ducks, they all get along fine.

Hoping to get eggs this year for Peafowl. Are they hard to incubate?
Under broodies they're super easy, but incubating them can be tricky. Last year was my first and I lost half the last 2-3 days, probably because I took the advice of other peafowl hatchers and set my humidity to 47% for the first 25 days. This year I'll start them off much lower and monitor their weight loss better.

Ok Im freaking out! I only have 6 duck eggs left out of 12! I have turkeys too. They were all due to hatch yesterday. I noticed on two ducks yesterday afternoon internal Pips. Just read Sally's assisted hatch. Give them till this afternoon before Tapping a hole?! thats what I got from the article. As for the turkeys I AM freaking out as they all died at this stage last year! OOOOOOMG

I hope they'll be okay, but if not, will you please post some eggtopsy pictures along with you incubation data?
