Lookey what came today!! will candle tonight at dark! Blue and splash!

I would LOVE to hatch pure Ameraucanas! No one around here has them though and I don't dare try sea levelish shipped eggs.

Just plugged in my incubator again. I am going to try some local eggs this time (now that I can find some!) and DH is picking them up for me tonight. RIR and Buff Brahmas. I am going to try a dry hatch this time, though I did have to add a little water already. Ambient humidity in my house is 30% and when I turned on the incubator and the turner it dropped down to 20%. Going to check again in about ten minutes to see what it does with the small well filled...

How funny! That's exciting about the New rental. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that there is room for lots of romping!

It's so funny because my mom in law was here helping me unload and set up my kitchen an hour before dark during the move when I realized that I had to set up the coop for the chickens. I went tearing outside to set it up before I was to go pick up my chickens. She laughed to my husband and said "To most women, the kitchen is the most important thing to get together first, she must love those chickens."

LOL That is so much me. No one seems to understand that my chickens take precedent over anything else. All my parents do is laugh at me - in fun. But they don't understand. My husband was not into any of this at the beginning but now is almost as obsessed as me. My eggs are in lockdown since yesterday and I don't even try to explain how exciting this is to me because unless I'm on here, no one seems to understand.

Sumi good luck with the house hunt! How are your egglets doing?

So I am fighting cocci in my little flock. I was planning on worming everyone but will be holding off now that they are getting treated for cocci. I decided to treat every one of them instead of just the ones I knew to be sick since I am pretty sure one of the bigger ones has it as well. I got a new rooster this last weekend and he is in quarantine for a few weeks. I also added eggs in with the eggs I already had going. I think I am going to get a still air and use it as a hatcher. Now I can keep eggs going in a constant rotation.

Thank you! I'm going to candle again tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll see more this time! Oh, heck, I forgot to get new batteries for the flashlight... Must remember tomorrow.

We drove around the area today, looking for the house. We found Castledonovan, but no house. I'll take the castle! LOL Only thing that worries me a teensy bit is the internet reception in that valley is patchy in places. I'm hoping like mad the house is in an O.K. spot!

No, the agent gave us some vague directions, but he said it's tricky to find. The castle was nice though
