We GOT Silkie PIPS X 2 out of 4 eggs so far!!! YAY!!

Harmony is very upset, the quail eggs we opened and everyone is infert.
The parents are very young from an end of oct hatch so I think this is why. she was sooooo looking forward to them little bumblebees

I was looking forward to seeing them too. You can try again with different eggs, maybe from different parents?

I have been plagued with nightmares about temp spikes, humidity drops, and the latest the turner quit working. Each morning I run out and check and everything is fine. This only happened since I added some eggs that are high priority for me. I need some distraction. Guess it is good we are getting yucky weather today. I am going to be so busy keeping the fire roaring hot so I won't freeze that I won't obsess over my eggs.

And I'm having a problem with a bird that started hanging out near our house. It's very vocal and one of the sounds it makes is so similar to a chick's it already had me checking on the incubator!

They're due in about 6 days only! I must admit I was wondering when I heard this cheep-cheep LOL I thought surely it can't be the chicks???

i have about 6 days for the first batch from my own eggs. i didn't realize we set about the same time. Let's race to see who gets the first pip.

Mine are due Monday. Can't wait! it's been a long time since I hatched chicks and I really missed it. I hope all goes well

Where is everyone these past two weeks? Living I guess.... I sooo want nice weather I need to go outside for more than a half hour! and now more snow tomorrow!!!

I'm here... Checking in! The DH ruptured his pectoral muscle during the last part of the move. Uggh! Luckily, no surgery but 6+ weeks recovery so I'm finishing the rest of the move solo & I've been fighting a chest cold. Just the horse fencing left.

I with ya, I SO can't wait for nicer weather.
