If they were set at the same time I would put them all in the hatcher. they might take their sweet time coming out.

They almost look like day12 or 13 eggs. It's very bizarre! All the rest, you see nothing but air cell.

Don't give up! Ducks are definitely a little more challenging. I let my ducks hatch their own for that very reason. My fingers are crossed for your next chick.

I am sad to report that the little ducky that hatched didn't make it. I have a feeling my daughter got in there and tried to help it, so I talked with her about leaving the eggs alone and not trying to "help" them. Also I think she opened the bator too much, but I don't know since I was at work and didn't see the little one pip the shell.

The other 3 are in various stages of pipping so we'll see how it goes. Ducks definitely not easy to hatch, think I will let momma daisy sit on a few of her eggs when it warms up.

Ok... Perplexed! I'm locking down eggs tonight! I have candled them all. My problem, 3 of the eggs don't look ready even though they were all put in the same time. There's movements inside the three... Just looks like a couple of days difference than the one I put in the hatcher. Should I put them in or wait another day? I'll take a picture. I'd say give them another day or 2. Sometimes some of the eggs may take a bit longer to get going, for some reason. I don't think it's an incubator issue. I've had this happen under broody hens as well. Good luck with your hatch!

I'm going to place an order for some eggs today. From the guy I bought my chickens from. He's got quite a few different breeds, but because these chicks are for selling to the pet shop I'm thinking Leghorn or RIR. Hardy, good layers and well known breeds. If I order them today he can bring me the eggs next Friday. I just need to talk to my hatch buddy about the date we're setting them... more later

i bought a used Encyclopedia of Chickens by Ester Verhoef and Aad Rijs that was produced in the Netherlands.

Its a great education as to the birds available to you and the different names for the same birds. what we call polish they appear to call dutch. several other breeds as well. its a wonderful tool if you can get it on ebay or a used book store on line over there.
