I talked with McMurray and they agree with you chicksooner; they say it is shipping stress. Nothing I can do beyond what I am doing.

This chick just went into the gasping phase so I don't have much hope for her.

I had some like this, they hatched a few days later and were WHITE chicks! so I pray its so!!

Wouldn't that be a surprise! So, I had my first arrival this morning. ??? I set them February 3rd at 6:00am. I thought today would be Day 19. How can I have a few that don't look ready to be placed in the hatcher and one that hatches so early? Uggh! I'll never make a good mama chicken! LOL!

Sally, would you put the last 3 in the hatcher even if they look like day 13 chicks?

Good idea! They look like lockdown aircells, just not lockdown chicks. One I think may be a quitter now. I just got done candleing them. Hmmm? I'll keep you posted.

One of the teachers at kiddo's school and I got talking about chicks etc this week. She hatches and raises broilers and ducks for people, but her incubator packed up. So I'm going to hatch some eggs for her. She's going to take some duck eggs with to school on Monday, so I can pick them up when I fetch kiddo. I'd better start reading about incubating duck eggs LOL
