when you opened it up, how fluid like was the chick in there after you could see better wetting it? and did you get any glimps of eye or beak?

I didn't notice any eyes or beak. I was in a hurry to get in back in bator after I noticed it was still Live and moving. How much water? A drop or two? Also I only had 2 eggs that were noticeably "rocking" now I have at least 4 that I can tell are moving. I'm gonna wait to her from u b4 I add anymore water to the membrane.

Sally, is it possible for an egg to become shrink-wrapped without even internally pipping?

sterlingb's egg appeared to be dry when opened. I've also seen this in some of my own eggs from past hatches. Live chicks that hadn't even internally pipped had white, dry membranes.

I ask because my goose egg still hasn't internally pipped and I'm getting worried. It sat at 15% humidity yesterday because I was trying to get the air cell just a bit bigger before it internally pipped. Is it possible that the 15% humidity was enough to dry the membrane preventing the internal pip?

Maybe I'm over thinking things, but what's your opinion.

Once again, I'm probably overly worried, but my egg still hasn't internally pipped and the blood vessels that I can see by candling are getting darker. I believe the CO2 levels are rising.

I really hope the little guy manages to interally pip soon.

cochins I would email celtic again to be honest, she is amazing and would take the time to chat with you, she knows how worried you are too.

Okay, I have had 11/19 chicks hatch. 1 chick (Robin) didnt make it. Squirt is somehow still alive, but the poor thing is so very weak and has lost lots of blood. I honestly don't know how he's even still alive. He still chirps and tried to move but he is so small and weak... I had another chick hatch this evening, I think she will be the last one. It's day 22 now and I candled some of the other eggs and they don't look alive at all. The other 8 chicks seem perfectly fine, fluffy, walking, running, chirping, eating, sleeping, ect. I'm really brought down about Squirt... He is in a bowl covered in paper towels in the corner of the brooder. Is there anything I can do to save him? Or would it be better to just cull the poor thing... 'Cept I don't know how to cull a chick ):

I think you should leave the eggs for another few days in the 'bator- Hope hatched on day 23-24.
I don't know what you should do with Squirt....
