a vein is pulled off? is it bleeding? Polysporin just has the two drugs I mentioned earlier. Neomycin also contains polymixenB as well. Both creams are ok. If youare opening the bator please take a picture.

:fl oh 3D I hope your chick is ok!! I don't know how to help it but ill be hoping for it!!!

I dont have time right now to quote journals and such, but when in the egg, the chick is being fed by the yolk. Its oxygenation comes from the blood vessels that we see when we candle. When the chick is born, they no longer need these attachments. The chickens body causes them to essentially spasm so no blood is being supplied to their outer membranes (the yolk connector and thevein connector) of this umbilical chord. Sometimes this is a little inflamed when the chick is born, but it resolves as the chick dries up. This is why you should not intervene unless its grossly abnormal.

It was sagging out and being dragged everywhere. It broke and a little bit of pink fluid came out. I put her on some paper towel with polysporin on it and put her back in the bator. It would have burst anyway... Most of it is still there though. I don't know what else to do.

Moving a lot is a good sign. Please think about the other eggs every time you are tempted to go in there. You will end up with a vicious cycle of dried membranes and assisted hatches. Let the chick dry out, fluff up and reassess.
