Umm, her bum looks kind of squishy. It's red/pink around it... I will try to get a picture. The only thing I can think off is dried egg fluid. What does her navel and the surrounding skin look like? It would help if you can get a pic of it, if possible.
Quote: Sweet, she's probably thrilled to bits to see some chicken friends! Reminds me off a young pullet I had in the house once. We hatched some chicks and I put them under the heat lamp and she saw them... The chicks cheeped like mad so I covered them with a cloth, just to comfort them as they like being covered by something while they are teeny tiny still. Shame the pullet went nuts. She looked and looked for them and cheeped and carried on until I showed her where the chicks were and then she HAD to get in there with them... Here she is with Fenella, my most difficult assisted hatch to date (but that's a story for another day)

Oh that's good! Please post a pic... (of the navel, not the poo, pleaseI didn't get a picture yet, but... She pooped!!!!!
As long as there aren't any external pips, you can candle them.Oh. I feel stupid. The pip was not a pip- it was a piece of dust. xD I checked all the other eggs as well, and none have pips. Would it be safe to candle them all tonight?
