Awe... Poor bobcat ): I know how dangerous they are, but I just can't help feeling bad... I do that for every animal I find, though.. If a stray dog, cat, or anything shows up at my house I usually end up helping it, even when my parents tell me to keep back, but I've never been harmed by any of them before.. Even by snakes, spiders, wild foxes, ect. If you have to kill it, please do it as painless as possible. But if it puts family in danger then I guess it's ok to do what you need to..

I know Sparky... Breaks my heart however; they won't come relocate him. Apparently with the boundaries they keep... Moving him to another location puts two bobcats at risk. They don't play well this time of year and if a battle between two of them occurs, they both risk injury & death. Don't feel confident enough in myself to trap him... And re-locate him myself or believe me I would. I love animals... All of them. It really sucks because the more they develop in this area... The more wildlife ends up on our property. We have deer, black bear, coons, possom, quail, plus more I probably don't want (mice). Good for the chickens though. That's why I spent over $800 on electric nets... So I wouldn't have to ever be put in this position. What I didn't realize is that there was a cat large enough on my property to leap 4' in a single bound. There's nothing next to the fences for them to leap from. I don't have a cat so I have no problem with the coyotes running the property. And up until now.... Nothing has ever made its way in.
I think next spring, I'm going to look into a guardian dog. It just breaks my heart all the way around. I have two very young nephews, and 5 children of my own that walk our wooded driveway everyday to and from the school bus. Not to mention, some of my birds are from Montana and not super easy for me to replace especially their quality for a threatened breed. I will try and get a hold of my friend who is a vet tomorrow to see if there are any other options. Right now, game & wildlife left it as our only option.
Ugh!
Lol, The worst we have is raccoons. Wow that must suck. :/

Hello everyone! Just wanted to join in!
I have 3 sets if eggs: 14 lavender orpingtons, 8 blue Swedish and 12 showgirl eggs. I have a brinsea 20 Eco that is ordered and shipped, but its stuck in USPS land, so I built an incubator (thanks to the wonderful information on BYC) and I set my Orpington and duck eggs two days ago in the homemade bator, I plan on switching them to the brinsea once it gets here and stabilizes and then use my homemade one as a hatcher. I am out of town at BFs family Christmas (my mom is turning the eggs, bless her) and according to USPS my showgirl eggs and brinsea were delivered yesterday!! Can't wait to get home today and set up my incubator!!
