Well the temp is 100 and the humidity is 70-71 ....the napkin seems not so wet anymore. She is resting and quiet yet moving her beak....shes not chirping anymore but doesn't appear in distress. When I talk to her she kinda tilts her head as if she is trying to see. Should this humidity be ok or is the napkin going to be restricting? I am going crazy ...my house is spotless, I think I am nesting haha
Kelly, your situation sounds A LOT like mine with Hope. Maybe try re- wetting the napkin with warm water.

Oh, well she is okay to wait for a while. My chick was on day 23 when she hatched. Watch a movie perhaps?
I have been trying to keep busy. The problem is we placed 2 eggs in the incubator 2 days after the rest...so when the other 3 got put into lockdown we could not rotate these ones. It was something we just didn't think about. So 3 chicks were all hatched on the same day. Once they were dry they started panting ...the humidity seemed high enough so we pulled them out quickly...I thought humidity loss causes shrink wrap..? There was absolutley no movement from the 2 eggs that were placed later and there was a smell coming from the incubator, coulda been the poo...but I worry about stuff so I figured I'd candle and just make a pip hole if there was an internal pip. First egg as you read was dead already, it was dry and stuck...so I freaked out...candled Butter and heard her chirping inside so I assisted. Now hubby and I are in disagreement ...I am insisting no she is not ready and he is trying to say yes she is when he clearly doesnot do all the research I do. I know she is absorbing right now...she must be...ok I vented lol

Um, I just decided to take pics of all my birds! Do they all look healthy, ya think? The first one is Cappa, my 3 1/2 month old silkie, then there's Joey, my 6 1/2 month old mallard, and then Moe and Aqua, my 6 month old chickens. Should moe and aqua start laying soon????

kelly-- I hope your chick hatches alright!!!! Give it time!!

Aqua looks like she is ready to kick off as soon as he sun shines enough! I'd be checking constantly for eggs. But then, I am a little OCD about that stuff.

LOL I sure hope they start laying soon! My parents expect the chickens to start paying their keep, or else I have to sell them D: and nope, the last one is an Olive Egger, but I did hatch an australorp a couple weeks before you joined the thread, and gave it to my friend :)
