What a morning. I am up to 6 chicks out of 22. They keep on coming.

yesterday we finished up our rooster bachelor pads and in all my brilliance I did not attach down the tops. We lost one of our black cockerels to a raccoon last night. So DH is going to be doing some hunting this next weekend when he gets back in town and I am securing the other cages properly. I am kicking myself.

Oh NO! Stupid Coons!!! That wild RIR that showed up got loose and has been roosting somewhere but shows up everymorning so I pray she isnt gotten but I am sure it will happen sometime. She comes to me but not close enough to grab her the stinker!!

Mystery Chick #1. This fuzzy is the only one like this in the whole box.


Mystery Chick #2; also a stand alone chick. There is a grey spot between his/her shoulderblades.


And I am leaning Black Giant but I am not sure. I have 4 others just like her.

Sumi I finally get the snow off the Sat Dish and you posted no pics!! WTheck woman! LOL wondering about those last chicks!!
 
Hey, you know how I told you guys that my sebastopol goose embryo died? Well I may have false hope, but there's a chance that it's still alive! I candled tonight because I had planned to crack it open. It's been too long, and it's not worth wasting electricity on the incubator. Well anyways, I candled it and saw a striking red line. I figured great, a blood ring is beginning to form, but then after I looked closer, I think that I saw lighter veining and possible movement (it could have been me moving the egg). It may just be me seeing things since I wanted this goose soo badly, but at least I have hope again. I think it should be more developed by now, but if it's alive then I'll be happy. I'll candle again tomorrow night.
