I am hoping at least a few of my eggs will be hatched by tomorrow afternoon cause I have a school dance at 7 and I won't be able to watch the chicks hatch!
I would skip a school dance to watch my eggs hatch any day! (I skip school dances even if I'm not hatching anything! lol)

Omg yay that's awesome 3D! I'm so happy for you!!!!! I'm on day 20 for my eggs an I have one with an internal pip and I can hear her cheeping and pecking at the shell! Last time I candled all 19 were perfectly developed and the temp has stayed pretty constant around 100 with humidity of about 65%. She should be hatched by tonight or tomorrow morning I hope!!!!!

Sally your the shipped eggs expert. I expect you to know all things.

I will have to see if I can find anything on chick movement. Not sure that I will find much since it would be hard to monitor embryo movement 24 hrs a day and then compile enough research to make any accurate statements as to how the embryo moves. Did that come out right?

I'm really getting worried about the sebastopol goose egg. I'm going to take pictures in a few minutes. It's on day 27 and I'm in lockdown, but there is way too much space left in that egg.

If anything, temperatures ran a tad bit high, so it shouldn't be delayed in development. Have any ideas Sally?

sparky did you do some of the decorations for the dance? I always liked doing that stuff!

Here's the egg. I've doubled checked the set date and this egg is definitely on day 27 which means it should hatch within 3 days. Does this embryo look ready to hatch? Temperatures ran at a steady 99.5 checked with 5 different thermometers. Air cell is nicely developed which I checked weekly by weighing.

Any ideas? The embryo is very active and I will do anything to get this egg to hatch.

Here's a view of the top:

Here's the clear area in the small end of the egg that I was talking about. The inner membrane of blood vessels never covered this area and the area is stationary. It does not move with the turning.

Here's another picture. You can see the clear spot, the mebrane full of blood vessels, and then the dark area is the embryo.

And here the egg is in my incubator.

Lastly, this picture is for you Sally. They were in a 100 gallon stock tank. I took this picture right before I devided them into 2 groups. They are even bigger now.

Oh, and if you couldn't tell, the dates are way off. I just took these pictures a few minutes ago.

I had a long post typed out with pictures, but when I clicked submit, a message popped up saying that since I was new, my post needed to be approved by a moderator. That's never happened before and I've been here for nearly 8 months. Has anyone else had this happen? Oh well, guess I'll type it out again.

Ok, here's my goose egg. I'm 100% sure that it's on day 27 so it should hatch within the next 3 days. Temperatuers ran a steady 99.5 degrees checked using 5 different thermometers. Air cell development is perfect and I checked it by weighing the egg weekly. The emrbyo is also very active.

I will do anything to get this egg to hatch, so if you have any advice, please share. This egg doesn't look like it's ready to hatch.

Here's a top view. It looks normal, but there is more space in the small end of the egg.

Here's the clear spot in the small end of the egg that I was talking about. The inner membrane with blood vessels never reached it. The spot is stationary and does not move when I turn the egg.

Here's a better picture. You can see the clear spot, the membrane with the blood vessels, and then the dark area is the embryo.

By the way, the dates in the pictures are way off.

Here's a picture of it in the incubator:

And for you Sally, here's a picture of my ducklings. They are in a 100 gallon stock tank and this was taken right before I split them into 2 groups.

Quote: I am seriously thinking about making a turner for our coolerbator. I am tired of turning and it would be nice to weigh a whole rack and be done with it. I guess the more you do it the easier you want it!
