Squirt had already been hatched for a while when I got home and his sac isn't very big and it's pretty much absorbed and dried up except for a tiny little bit
Robin on the other hand just hatched while I watched and has a little bulge of a yolk sac still in there, where it looks like he hasn't quite finished absorbing and his navel is still open. He also hatched out of the wrong end of the shell and his yolk is still attached to his shell. What can I do to save him??

There isn't an internal pip yet, but my goose egg is rocking! Yay!

I'm a little worried about the air cell not being large enough though....

I just got home... Checked on the bator-- 5 have hatched so far (3 black chicks, 2 golden ones) and 2 are zipping (both black chicks) I can't tell weather or not the rest of the eggs have externally pipped. Woot!!!

YAY!!!

Yay Sparky! 3D... It's either a rose comb or a pea comb. Not sure yet.

Ughhh!!!! Both of the "zipping" chicks just hatched, and one of them hasn't finished absorbing his yolk sac!!!

Put him in a tupperware container away from the others and keep his yolk off any wires/sharp things!!

Cute! I don't know really, but I would take them out asap and place them in tupperware and then back in the 'bator to dry off if they already haven't.

Ok, I left squirt in the bator with the others, but I have Robin in the far corner of the bator on a wet paper towel surrounded by a sponge and some shells from the other chicks that makes a cradle for her to absorb in

I've decided to run the incuabtor dry until the internal pip. I'm hoping that the air cell will increase a bit.


Sparky, is Robin still in the shell? or it she completely out? If she's still in the shell, prop her up in a bowl and leave her in the shell. She will absorb the remaining wolk after a while. If not, just set her aside away from the others and hope for the best. I find that chicks that hatched on their own with a bit of yolk left almost always make it.

She pulled herself out of the shell and I have put her in a corner on a damp towel to absorb. The other yolk chick went over there on her own to join her yolk buddy and now they are both absorbing together. Plus I have more external pips. Oh, please do not let them have yolk!!!! >.<
