So I think I need my head examined!!! I have really gone off the deep end in the chicken lover department...just ordered 25 chicks of a rare breed called Blue Andalusian....in one year I've gone from experimental chicken owner to incubator and now breeder/conservationist of endangered poultry! how did that happen? LOL anyway will let you all know when they get here.

Oz this breed is heat tolerant, winter egg layer and hardy. Also great foragers as they thrive on free ranging
Keep in touch because I will be needing to offload eggs to you!

No you dont! I love Andalusian! they are so pretty!

Thanks to Sally Sunshine I was able to save the one lone survivor of an expensive and terrible hatch. This sweet baby was peeping away on Day 22 so I made a small pip and then slowly more following her directions. Here she is in the egg and a few days later. She was peeping the whole time I was assisiting her out of the shell. I never had any blood. I call her my $200. chicken.

OH MY Wouldya lookey here!!! isnt it AMAZING!! I say call her BLING for sure!! look at that feathering already!!

3D you did it!!! ach du gut in himmel!!! Congrats chicca!!! Well done 3D well done! I am so glad, you are master! YAY!!!! lookey at what you hatched!! did you feather sex them?
I tried.... I will try again later maybe. I think Bella is a boy because of his/her's very thick legs. They are all mutts, so it probably won't be accurate...

Or would it?

BTW the other eggs were all dead. I even broke into all the air cells and they didn't move. (I broke a couple veins in each and they did not bleed as well.) A couple pipped but actually drowned from what it looked like. :( I am still very happy for my three precious chicks!!!!!
