I was correct, Mrs. Oz is beautiful, and looks like a sweetheart too! I especially love the baby in the Santa hat on sis's shoulders!! Have I said yet that I want to go there??

Just a quick update from me. I have 23 eggs in the bator. All alive and kicking. And on day 7. Mostly the rest of eggs I took out were all infertile. Mainly the shipped eggs apart from only 1 of them were from my flock. And 1 of the shiped eggs had a crack which I repaired. But had the ring of death. So I pulled that out!
So happy 23 eggs! Hopefully I can keep some that will hatch!
23! Awesome!!! YAY!!! I love day 7 candles!! we have a bunch on day 14 but I don't feel like candling, will do it tomorrow!

I went to the BYC meet-up at Norco today. It was great to meet people I have had conversations with on the site. There were a lot of chickens.

I brought home a legbar roo from HixSix for Hillflowerranch. I am waiting to hear when I should deliver so i gave him some feed and water. My room mate called me from my room because a rooster was in his bedroom.

Oh friends I should have started a whole different thread for this. So our stubborn chick is still stubborn and looking kinda stuck. I took another pic through the top of the bator. The membranes still look moist inside to me but maybe a lil tight and it is NOT making any progress, just fighting and chirping. What are your thoughts?
Stats are...
Internal pip AT LEAST 48 hours ago.
Made a tiny breathing hole pip about 5 hours ago
It made the crazy giant hole about 3 hours ago.
I do not see any blood veins
Here is what it looks like now, you can see it's beak open on the right hand side.

I agree with taking the top off, meaning ABOVE THAT inner membrane only and viewing the membrane, follow the assist article https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching I will go see if I can find your new thread, my guess is that's where ya are!

Guppies, I always wanted to try them out, but working in the pet industry you get jaded on certain species, and guppies were one of mine. They would come in batches of about 1,000 and by the time they were all put away, 1/4 would be dead, and by the next morning another 1/4, gone! So I never tried, but always loved the males beautiful tail. The real miracle of the pet industry is the betta! It used to make me sick to unpack them. They are shipped individually packaged in 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inc plastic bags almost vacuum sealed with about a spits amount of water. The water is so insignificant that their bodies are curled in half in the corner of the bag to even be in it!! I was always told that it's all they needed for shipping, but let me tell you, I have serious issues with it!

I know what you mean, and I even have issues with how they are raised. Most bettas are kept in small vases and jars simply because they are able to survive the conditions. Many people think it's normal for them to just lie down and do nothing. In fact, I even heard someone say on the radio that bettas enjoy living in tiny places. That's very untrue. I will only keep bettas in 10 gallon heated tanks and they are always very active and friendly.
