Caffeine causes vasoconstriction. It is the ingredient in excedrin that makes it a good headache pill as many headaches are from vasodilation. Headaches that are persistent must be evaluated by a doc. There are lots of causes - some very serious. What breed is Chickadee, is that a Brahma?? My Chickadee is a Mille Fleur D'Uccle, my fav little hen![]()
Have you tried to give your DH some Gatorade or Powerade? Maybe he is dehydrated? Also, I use anti inflammatories for my headaches-Naproxen- Hope Hope Hope he gets rid of that!!!!I get HORRIBLE migraines, I can sympathize. For some reason the only thing I have found that helps me when migraine is a bottle of Vanilla Frappuccino. I have tried coffee before, but comes back up. Caffeine helps to dilate the blood vessels in the brain and allows better blood flow and thus more oxygen to the brain. But can further dehydrate, if that is the case.![]()
OZ- is that correct?
Many people drink buckets of coffee at work then don't have any on the weekend and end up with a withdrawal headache. It happens to me too.
Even though the brain is only a few pounds, it uses 20% of all the body's energy requirements - so sometimes a sugar drink can help - the Frappuccino will give you both the sugar and the caffeine.
Dehydration can cause headaches as well.
