Ribh's D'Coopage

Just to add - I didn’t know what normal looked like so I just assumed she knew what she was doing. Everyone seemed happy and the chicks grew like weeds.
I think she is just a very protective mother and is defending her ‘nest of babies’ even though her nest is now very mobile and rather large!
Wrold is definitely protective.
I am still treating for stick flea & have to keep mum & bubs together or they both get frantic.

No-one did this the last 2 times so I wasn't sure if this was normal or a strange aberration.

:fl I have a pullet. Mr Google, not the most reliable source, suggest long & short wing feathering & a distinct tail growth in the 1st weeks indicates a pullet. We have that happening but her general bearing suggests pullet rather than cockerel. I don't need a 2nd rooster so am hopeful

Wrold had bubs out in the run when Henry gave his warning call.
Bubs immediately went under cover while mum stood guard.

She is actually well under cover & hard to see.
