awwww IDK the color of cuteness for sure!So... They are still young and it can be hard to tell (and I'm sure I will post again when they are older) but can anyone throw out some ideas about what color my silkie chicks are?
Their bodies range from buffish I silver/grey but all have buff heads. I haven't found any pics that really look like mine.

ooh ... btw.. i glanced in the bator out of habit earlier... i have one that wiggles just a little .. its too early for hatching but ... that makes 3 alive... 2 with movement inside last night and this third one actually wiggling just the tiniest bit this morning ....![]()
Quote: I was waiting for that. We raised a single chick after his mom rejected him (one of our rare bad broody experiences). I was too soft hearted to leave him home alone when we went out, so he went everywhere with us until he was about 4 months old. He's been to a few shops and restaurants, the supermarket, 2 libraries, 3 beaches, Dept of Home Affairs when we renewed our passports (he created quite a stir there when someone mistook his cheeping for a cell phone) and 6 different towns in total. I think he put quite a few people off eating chicken. We had food and water bowls in the car for him and he behaved well during the journeys, except when we took long trips, then he'd get antsy. It was fun though. Walking around shops and shopping mall with a completely straight face and a 3 month old chicken under your arm. Highly recommended if you feel like having a good laugh![]()
That's the roo I trusted my friend to look after when we left and found he rehomed him.

..... MY PRECIOUS!!! ... lol ..I feel like that character in lord of the rings!!
but these are the beautiful hatching eggs from LaceyBlues!![]()
packaged beautifully and labeled from different families of her breeding pens so I would be able to band them when they hatch for future crossings ....my plan is slowly coming together!![]()
now just gotta start on those additional coops. Hey anyone know where to get legbands. I'll need several sizes & colors I think because I plan to label all the hatchery babies with 1 color and then add a color for male/female. then label each chick from breeder hatches with another color. want to keep them seperate.![]()
Day 21 and chewing my fingers for signs of life from the incubator.... First time ever trying to hatch... I have heard patience is a virtue and I'm not feeling very patient LOL
