Diary & Notes ~ Air Cell Detatched SHIPPED Chicken Eggs for incubation and hatching

Wonder if the eggs got chilled under my broody hens? Only one chick so far and they are on day 21 and day 22. I thought I had seen more pips but I looked in the light today and didn't see any. Im candling tonight.

Even under broody hens they sometimes hatch late. I've had an entire hatch start on day 22 and the last one hatched on day 25.

I had to put down my cross beaked chick tonight. ;(. It was getting too skinny. Ugh! But I cared for it enough to do what needed to be done. It's just hard for this social worker to do something like that, I'm used to helping not harming. Thanks for listening to me ramble.

The. Two are worse this morning. I syringe fed them again. If they are worse this afternoon, I'm putting them down. Is it seizures they are having?

Well we're up to 7 turkeys, 1 duck, and 1 guinea that have hatched. All but one of the remaining turkey eggs have pipped, and all but three of the duck eggs have pipped. No other guinea or chickens have pipped yet. I'm a little concerned about some of my duck eggs and all of my remaining guinea eggs. I'm not seeing the eggs shaking or wiggling like the turkeys have been. The chickens are also completly still but I added those to the incubator a week later so I'm hoping they are on their own schedule.

Cody awesome! But in case you missed it, (and I know how busy you are) THEY DONT EXIST until we see pics!

Aww poor Wobbles.. He's terrified of me!!!

He has a heart attack every time I reach my hand into the brooder! Well... He is only 2 days old...

oh No all my ancona that hatch are like that! and no matter how much I sit with them, they only like me when they are older and I offer them snacks! and then they still don't like to be held!

Ok so just had a baby hatch this evening with a leg that keeps going inward any ideas if this will resolve itself?

Oh, Well thanks for clearing that up. I was getting kinda upset! What would we all do without those wonderful summaries??? We'd probably have to READ everything ourselves! Imagine that...

THERAPY works if you have the time to put in! And that's ALOT of time!
