Ummmmmm........................One of my GLW Hens was crowing a few minutes ago or I was sill groggy from fishing all night................................She/He still looks like a hen................................But that does explain why I only get 3 eggs a day from those 4 hens............................But he/she still looks like a hen.............................

If you don't have a roo around the most dominant hen will take over and act like a roo, sometimes she'll "crow" like a roo as well. This is more common with older hens.

It's more pullet than hen. I have an adult Roo and several juvenile Roos. It was a strange thing for sure.

There are two still breathing Sumi. I hope they can make it.

I used coconut oil as that was the first thing recommended. So they are clear. The blood vessels are getting smaller. I haven`t left any shell for them to pip, if they had the strength, but it sort of crumbled off the top where the air sack was haven`t caused any bleeding .I can`t get the humidity up. I have just wet some kitchen towel with boiled water and put it beside the eggs.

So she might be a he. Can you post a pic of her? I got caught out by late bloomers like that before. One of my roosters had me so fooled. I swore he was a hen until he crowed. And not one of those "excuse me, I'm still still practicing" crows either. A nice, good, loud crow. And he was sitting on my lap at the time...

Quote: I dampen the membranes with a q-tip and clean water. Just now and then to see what the progress is and to keep it soft. It works well for me. If the vessels are shrinking it's good. Give them a little sugar water as soon as you can. Dribble it on their beaks. It will give them a little energy boost. Good luck, hey.

I will do that right now! Thank you so much for taking your time to help.
