Here are my chicks from last hatch. 12 days old now. Somebody needs to come and buy these chicks. LOL

I quickly removed all the bedding I could this morning. Carried one of my water trough brooders to the outside pen. Gathered the sickest 5 chicks and put them in it. I wish I had another place to out the ones that aren't sick but I don't want to contaminate the rest of the flock.

Maybe it's something else. I don't have wet conditions. My conditions are very dry.

you answered my questions here.... no chance of mold? they aren't getting moldy food/snacks or anything of the like? I am so sorry Doug : (
I would get a blood draw done, or send a live chick off to be tested, your loosing too many.

I wonder if anyone can help please. I have 2 eggs due to hatch today. One has pipped externally and internally, the other pipped at the bottom of the shell. I opened the hole a bit to see if it could breathe ok, and I noticed a jelly like substance. What is that? There is no bleeding, and it isn`t attached to the bottom of the shell. It started off with a saddle shaped air sac, and I am thinking the yolk, if it hasn`t been absorbed, is in the wrong place. What to do?

I wonder if anyone can help please. I have 2 eggs due to hatch today. One has pipped externally and internally, the other pipped at the bottom of the shell. If it's clear it may be residual albumen. I've had chicks in this condition hatch successfully. Is it breathing o.k. in there? If it is, leave it and follow the usual routine for assisted hatches. But wait an extra few hours before assisting to make up for the time it didn't have between internal and external pipping. With malpositioned pippers I add 6-7 hours to the usual timeframe, to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Sally-I wouldn't mix anything else in the water.

So 4 chicks hatched in the bator last night and 2 more pipped. Tried to give them to the hen who has killed two unhatched chicks. She didn't accept them. so gave them to the other who had some of hers hatch out yesterday and last night. I need to rig up a broody breaker for the other one. She has had all the chances she is gonna get.

Thanks Sumi. I have just left it in the incubator. I really am not ever doing this again. It goes wrong every time for me

I agree, if the broody is full of nonsense break her. I don't give my broodies any chances, if they mess up, it's over.
