160+ from 260+ shipped eggs
I have the very last set of my own serama brahma and I think 3 either white silkies or wfsxpolish going into lockdown when I get to them, prol tonight. so I also will have them popping in a few days!

The difference between hen raised chicks and brooder raised...The little guys are 3.5 weeks or so. The big awkward teenager looking ones are 3.5 months old. The little guys go right to the top and snuggle against whichever bird they are closest to. The teenagers are still trying to figure the whole roosting thing out and a couple still prefer the ground. Oh and the teenagers will do anything to keep the little ones happy so the hen won't peck them. The dynamics of the chicken flock are fun to watch.
awwwwww

I lied I am trying to respond to kaybee an my fav hen and add a pic but its just runnin runnin???????????????? and it looks like byc has been doing some changes to that area, the upload popup looks fancier.

I keep both in powder form in ball jars with label attached with a rubber band. I am fairly sure I have a complete med cabinet for my flock, I should take a pic and note what I have so everyone can go over it and add whatever else I am missing, like those sticky things oz and hill said if I have another cracked egg so late in the game. Thanks Sumi!

really? that's cool!
awesome! like I said everything is in that article and if something doesn't make sense just ask! Have you raised temps now since you don't have a fan? or wait, did you tell me you had a fan! uggggg

Actualy I did raise the temp it's at 102 but found a guy who had one of these old bators he said because its not insulated the fan wouldn't work right said it would make the element lose more heat then it can recover I also have a question about my other eggs that are in the small bator due to pip 2 dy ago If I float test them and they float low but don't rock and roll should I discard or wait

I am so sorry, I also have had bad luck with every shipped polish I got. they are so tough, I wish we could find them closer to home for you! the coronation all bad? did you eggtopsy them? were they fert?
there was no way of telling. when i open the eggs everything was all scramble inside. post offices just dont care

Mine will hatch Sunday if the sun, moon and planets are aligned.

The eggs move to the display case bator today. As we had quite a few wet coturnix chicks unable to get out of their shells, I am going to not add water to the bator at all. I will instruct Bernie not to open it for 48 hours from first pip. Relative humidity is at 55% in that bator without dehumidifiers. As soon as the eggs start to open it should jump to 70.

We will see how it goes. 165+ eggs are depending on it!

OMG Lisa do not read all that! LOL! I was having issues as well but now its working. Have you tried again?

too funny! LISA HAS CROADS!!! ha ha ha!

Welcome and so glad you joined us! I cant wait to see your chicks!!! yay!!! So all air cells are good? that's awesome! I got my CCL from madamwlf here on BYC she is NPIP and she sent me the best packaged and best looking E V E R eggs and all hatched but one infertile! and I got a white CCL chick!
I have all sorts of things in my life but never CROADS. Maybe thats a bad thing.

Oz awesome information as usual, I so appreciate the time you put in for all the details when we need them so bad! OZ ROCKS like I said! well you all rock! lol
Thanks Sally. My work history has made me pretty good at learning how to search on line and sift through the opinions and find facts that are substantiated by data. Its my pleasure to share.

Hello everyone. I am so bored and trying not to go mad crazy at the fact 2 transformers, blew down the road somewhere. So here i sit in my car so i can charge my phone, and cjat with friends. The weather is weird for this time of the year, not complaining, just weird. Only 70* windy as all get out. I have two incubators cooling off and I'm trying not to open. One has chicks in it as they are on day 20 and 21. 7 turkey eggs on day 15 and 16. I wonder if my broody hen would hatch them out for me, any thoughts.

if she is broody why not try!

I gave her the eggs and see took them like they we're her own. Boy willshe be surprised when they hatch at the beginning of the week. Tricky huh I have too many broodies. To more to go.

Hi el pollo rey! Howd the hatch go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
. Hey Sally sorry for not posting in a while been busy as a one legged man in a a $$ kicking contest down this way and all the hatches have been coming off great my gringo birds are a month old on Tuesday already and are feathering out nicely spunky and healthy I have completed my list and orders for my July trip back up north and am looking forward to my next immigrant egg set late in July my bators have been running non stop since April and hatch rates have been marvelous . My gringo pullets should start laying in November so I will wast no time getting them bread out and established I ended up with trios of each breed except for the Sussex and that was a fertility issue and had nothing to do with the incubation and travel so I have been happy happy happy
