I at least make a tiny hole to see if they are dry at the pip area and then let them go and time hatch with the rest before going further. sometimes if I see wet I make the hole big enough to fit Qtips in to sop up any fluid.

This evening sucked really bad. I had to cull one of my young black chicks. Well I guess they are around 7 weeks. Anyway. Not sure if it was the heat or she got injured but found her standing on her head. Wry neck symptoms. Crap always happens with the most prized.
