Sally good wry neck info. For those dealing with cocci in all my wry neck research I have been doing I am learning a lot about cocci as well. Medicated feed can prevent proper vitamin absorbtion and/or the feed is lacking in enough vitamins to begin with. Therefore leaving usually young birds susceptible to things like wry neck. So if you are going with the medicated feed add vitamin mix to the water.

Another option from a long time breeder is to add 1/2 -1 tsp corid to the water when you start introducing them to the outside. I need to double check the amounts but it is a small enough amount of corid that it won't kill everything off but allows the birds immune system to keep up with the cocci and creates immunity in the bird. This only needs to be done for a week. Non medicated feed. After the week add in vitamins in the water for a few days to give them a boost. I will go back and find this information and copy her words over exactly as she said.

Iam hatching button quail. They been the incubator for 3 days The power went out for one and half hours will they be ok my first batch didn't go so great
If the temp didn't lower for too long you should be ok! You will need a strong flashlight to candle and check them for viability on day 7 or 10! good luck with the hatch! I don't know if you found my notes but they may help you understand more, there is a section on what if electric goes out....

Welcome to the thread! do you know what type buttons your going to hatch?

OMG!! Almost have the hen house done. Just need to mow the tree sprouts down and put up the 70 feet of wire. Then I can move the hens on over.

I am glad that I decided to always add this to my growers water! A little goes a long way too!
