My mom just got my sister one of them! My concern is keeping the hose clean, I can see it on a porch but not where I use mine. I would love one to have to hook to the sink to fill up the fish tanks with warm water!
cool! Here is an article in Shape magazine, it's good to know people are coming around http://www.shape.com/weight-loss/food-weight-loss/7-things-you-didnt-know-about-eggs?page=1
CRAP! I actually did take those images of ours! I forgot about them, Nifty-chicken is working on my coop page because its locked up for editing so I wasn't able to do anything but I can post on here in a second, plus I have a few other ideas in my idea folder! uploading for you!!! sorry and I LOVE THIS COOP ITS VERY VERY gorgeous!!!I just purchased this extra large dog house and I'm converting it into a backyard coop. The two side and over the entrance windows will have hard wire over them and I plan to make a front door that closes and locks to shut them in at night. Since I am in FL, I do not intend them to stay in there for long periods even in winter time and they have free range of the entire fenced backyard. Along the back and one side wall will be the high roosts with two nesting boxes on the other side. One of the pics is one of my full size hens so you can see what it looks like to scale. I feel 5-6 can sleep comfortably in there over night. They pile on top of each as it is right now.I plan to buy a second of of these to house my grow outs and smaller sized birds. It will have a run attached to the coop to keep them all safe. It rained heavily a little bit ago and it was all dry inside. I plan to do sand somehow in the bottom to take care of the poop and just scgoop it. This was regularly $250-300 but I paid less than $100 including shipping because it was a return. Its never been used.
Sorry it's foggy because it has just finished raining.
And last, does this look like a fertile or non-fertile egg to you?
Thanks!
Fertile

I bought two milk goats last night and my wife milked two goats for her first milking ever this morning. I don't think she ever touched a goat before yesterday. They used the milk on cereal this morning and everyone loved it. I will help milk this afternoon when I am home from work.
I candled yesterday afternoon and ended up throwing out over 4 dozen eggs total. Most were guinea eggs. I was warned by another person when I bought them that they didn't get a good hatch from some they bought from the same person. I wont buy from her again. So Im down to about 2 dozen guinea eggs in a bator. I have about a dozen Wyandotte eggs in a bator and 2 peacock eggs in another bator. I have been putting all my eggs in the fridge. I have an empty bator and by next weekend I should have 4 empty ones. That is if I don't run across something I think I just have to have.
I would be asking for replacements. Most vendors seem to be OK with thatI bought two milk goats last night and my wife milked two goats for her first milking ever this morning. dumb question alert! can i use scented bleach on an incubator if I'm going to let it dry thoroughly outside so the scent should go away?
Quote: Kay I only lower it a degree when I see an external pip. 100 is too low it has to be 102 top of eggs, I DO HIGHLY suggest you add a fan, either cheap computer or buy one made for it. It really helps with moving that heat and keeping it even. do you move eggs around in the bator during incubation since you have no fan as well? I do it and I have a fan.
I should add that I am using a Farm Innovator Pro 4200 with circulated air and auto turner. My temp has been between 99 and 100 99% of the time with a couple fluctuations to 98 and 101 briefly. I am doing a staggered hatch. I have an LG still air I will be using for a separate hatcher. What temp/humidity should I set the LG to for hatching? Thanks for the help!!
I posted how I run, in a few posts ago. if you can keep it like that and not add water, your good! I only go a degree lower at first external pip otherwise I don't touch it and leave at 100 even as I keep it during hatch, my coolerbators have NO flux is exact all times 100 degrees. We have had days and days of rain and humidity here in Texas (although we are still way behind in rain for the year). I am doing my first hatch and am mostly following the dry hatch method. In the notes on that is says ambient room humidity of 50 - 75% with 50 being preferable. So I have been seeing room humidity most commonly hovering around 65 - 70%. I haven't been testing the bator humidity but decided to test it this morning after reading the latest posts here. The room humidity was 50 with the A/C running and the bator is saying 37%. How am I doing here?
