Oh, and when I questioned him, he asked me if I would be willing to take those 3 back in exchange for 3 cochin hens. Heck no!

I ended up with 6 total chicks this hatch, 4 EEs and 2 SLW. Another one hatched but it had that same bubble on it's head so I had to cull it. This shipped egg hatch rate was 25% since it was 24 eggs. These are the eggs that came from CA to FL and my best hatch so far. I'm going to research bators and incubating and try again later.

I did take a puck of the sticky goo and will post it soon.
This was shared with me on another thread (can't remember by whom at the moment - but props to that kind soul) and it has a chart toward the bottom that discusses deformities and the vitamin deficiencies that it can be related to. http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/...e-Cartwright-Incubating-and-hatching-eggs.pdf Don't know if that is the cause, but the rest of the article is awesome as well.
